What TV Shows did you grow up with?

At Voyager G's suggestion, I want to set up a poll for Superheros. In doing the research, I found I had to re-categorize some of the genre notations in my database.

Wikipedia says:

Definition:
A superhero (sometimes rendered super-hero or super hero) is a fictional character "of unprecedented physical prowess dedicated to acts of derring-do in the public interest".[1] Since the debut of the prototypal superhero Superman in 1938, stories of superheroes — ranging from brief episodic adventures to continuing years-long sagas — have dominated American comic books and crossed over into other media. The word itself dates to at least 1917.[2] A female superhero is sometimes called a superheroine (also rendered super-heroine or super heroine).

Live-action television series
Main article: Superhero live-action television series
Several popular but, by modern standards, campy live action superhero programs aired from the early 1950s until the late 1970s. These included Adventures of Superman starring George Reeves, the psychedelic-colored Batman series of the 1960s starring Adam West and Burt Ward and CBS’s Wonder Woman series of the 1970s starring Lynda Carter. The popular Incredible Hulk of the late 1970s and early 1980s, however, had a more somber tone. Lou Ferrigno as the Hulk in the 1978 episode "Married".In the 1990s, the syndicated Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, adapted from the Japanese Super Sentai, became popular.[citation needed] Other shows targeting teenage and young adult audiences that decade included Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. In 2001, Smallville retooled Superman's origin as a teen drama. The 2006 NBC series Heroes tells the story of several people who "thought they were like everyone else, until they woke with incredible abilities".

So, here's the list I came up with (per the shows in my database).

Batman
Bionic Woman, The
Buck Rogers in the 25th Century
Buffy The Vampire Slayer
Captain Midnight
Flash Gordon
Flash, The
Greatest American Hero, The
Green Hornet, The
Heroes
Isis
Lois & Clark
M.A.N.T.I.S
Man From Atlantis, The
Shazam!
Six Million Dollar Man, The
Smallville
Spider-Man Animated
Superman

You could add Captain Nice & Mr. Terrific, even though they are superhero spoofs of sorts.Other additions could be:The Phoenix,The Powers of Matthew Starr,Electra Woman & Dyna Girl,Ultra-Man,Johnny Sokko & His Flying Robot,Mutant X,Dark Angel,Birds Of Prey,Zorro, and ,since I would be inclined to think you are going primarily with live-action,use the 1978 Spider-man series with Nicholas Hammond as opposed to the animated version.

Okay, so all of this list you gave me are "live-action" series? The only two you listed that I wouldn't have to add to my collection of game pieces are Zorro & Dark Angel. I don't have either Dark Angel or Zorror classified as a super heros (but that's easily changed, especially since there aren't enough women anyway!) She was genetically enhanced, giving her the physical prowess listed in the definition. I'm not certain I can squeeze her into the "dedicated to acts of derring-do in the public interest" thingy, though. I remember the TV version of Zorro, depicting him as a figure who fought against tyranny with his sword, in masquerade. He was very adept with the sword, so guess you might consider that "unprecedented" physical prowess.

It looks like I'll have to do a lot more research before I can even begin to put this poll together.
