Do you think that intellectual or performance property from 40 or 50 years ago, should still be under copyright protection?
As some of you know, I post combination raw data files to YouTube in the form of TV Show Intros for different years. The last one was for the year 1960. I sometimes also include stats for the year, like prices, top songs, movie and TV hits, and headline news of the period. WMG (Warner Music Group) claimed a copyright infringement, and YouTube muted my video, without telling me what song or show belonged to them, so that I could find a midi representation to replace the real song.
I did some research and found that they claim ownership to a lot of stuff (that in my opinion should be public domain by now) and I disputed their claim. I'm happy to report that the sound is now back!
