Role Models?

Opinionated Lady brought up a good point. The 50's didn't really offer any good role models for little girls to follow if they didn't intend to become housewives! So, who were some of the women who YOU decided you wanted to emulate?

I left home at 16, so pretty much didn't have the money for a TV until much later in life and by then was deep into breaking the Glass Ceiling to get ahead in the work-a-day world.
