E-TV

What TV Shows did you grow up with?

So I thought there was a list of favorites during current season, but I could be hallucinating, I do that:

Dancing with the Stars
Biggest Looser (don't watch results show)
Eli stone
Own Worst Enemy (I think)
Desperate Housewives
Brothers and Sisters
Cold Case
Law and Order SUV
Life
Army Wives
The Closer
Saving Grace
Lipstick Jungle
Ugly Betty
Grays Anatomy
Fringe
In Plain Site
Damages (if it returns)
Ghost Whisperer
Numbers
Dead Like Me (because I can - and who cares if it is reruns)
American Idol
So You think You Can Dance (one of their runner ups is on Dancing w/the stars)
Medium

And all of these are in no particular order

I don't do commercials either. I guess Kyle is back now. I'm waiting for Army Wives. As far as the detective shows:

Criminal Minds remains a favorite
11th Hour
In Plain Sight - will be back this spring, goody!
Burn Notice - I love this campy program
Numbers - is a Staple in this house
Lie to Me - I'm still in to it.
Flash Point - I'm not so sure about anymore
Leverage - love it
the Closer - love Brenda!
Life - I love it - but damn there are two other shows on the same time slot, so I guess I will catch it when something else ends.

Can't wait to see how Doll House pans out.
Cold Case - Except I haven't been able to watch it for awhile because of all the specials like tonight there is a movie called
XIII or something like that I have TVO'd along with Desperate and Brothers and Sis.

So that ends that.

And I haven't even finished watching CBS Sunday Morning for the number of hours I've been here and with that statement, I'm getting off the computer. My rump is sore.

One more thing - I'm dumping Dancing with the Stars

No point creating a new thread after the fact and since I can't get into Jig - I just wanted to say I loved this year's Awards ceremony.

Jackman was really cool, loved the set and lighting design - thankful to the presentation to all 4 actors (Yippee Sean Penn) and Queen Latifah singing during the Memorial Portion was a first and I loved it. Done with so much class. It was a fresh show. It really was. Very well thought out.

I think I was about 65% right on the winners without having seen any of them. I guess that's my intuition and history in the industry. Always sad to see someone I've worked with that is on the Memorial list. This time I think it was Pat Hingle.

Like I said in the PM, I think you need to contact Leela if you can't get into Jig! I haven't had any problems and am in there everyday. Use this link and if it doesn't work it's you with the problem, but I don't know what it could be.

It's funny looking at the list now, and know how much I knocked off my schedule. Also the network scheduling really messed me up. I love Life but it was sandwiched between Criminal Minds and Idol. What's a girl to do if there is only one set hooked up in the house? Not paying to hook up a second.

BTW, can't believe all the publicity the Farrah Fawcet special is getting for this Friday. It's sad that she is dealing with her cancer - but I guess the tabloids must have forced her into it since they were spreading crap again. I don't know. Maybe it's helping to offset some of the medical bills if her S.A.G. insurance has run out. Just like I.A.T.S.E. you have to work so many hours per term (I think) in order to keep it activated - although that doesn't seem logical - then again, neither one of them have been working. I hope they made sound investments and not with Madoff.

I have not seen anything about the Fawcett special but then I don't watch promos, as they're also commercials. I do edit my soap daily so get what ever they're pushing on CBS, which is Michael J. Fox this week.

I missed that one. Thought about saving it and then forgot. Heck it's all I can do to keep up with Idol and then last night was final night for Biggest Looser. I was hoping for Tara - but damned if Helen didn't take the whole enchilada and much older then Tara. What was a real hoot is the 64 year old guy took the $100,000 win over everyone younger then him. It was just amazing watching him. I never would have believed at that age he would be able to loose about 164 lbs. Slim and muscles too boot.

It's inspiring - even if I struggle with 5 lousy pounds.

OKAY--New Season ALERT!! ALERT!! Here are some of the REALLY Cool programs to watch out for!!
1. "V" (ABC) Its a re-invention of the old series shown in the 80's on NBC--but I Guarantee it will be MUCH Better! (for those of you who are unacquainted with '80's TV History--Aliens come to Earth--pretending to be friendly and helpful--but have a hidden agenda that is "chilling"!)
2. FLASH FORWARD (ABC) Everyone on Earth blacks out for 2 min. and 17 seconds--and during that interval they have a vision of what their life will be like in the future--6 months from that time! (Obviously all kinds of people and agencies go nuts trying to figure out why--who's behind it--are the visions real--etc.!!!)

3. HANK (kelsey Grammer)--a former CEO has to deal with leading a "normal" middle class life (along w/his family) after being tossed out on his ear by his former employers There are clips of all of the shows mentioned so far--on youtube--I highly recommend viewing them!)--This show promises to be Extremely funny--(side note to the sitcom haters--AW C'mon--you watch funny movies don't you? Who wants to be deadly serious ALL the time? I feel certain this sitcom will rival many good film comedies!!)

4. HAPPY TOWN (ABC) --This one is hard to explain--(a clip of this 1 is available as well!)--its surreal juxtaposed against maybe too much normalcy! Just check the youtube video--its worth your time to watch it!

5. Day ONE--In the aftermath of a global event that decimates the worlds infrastructures (ie--no internet--TV--Police--Supermarkets--etc.!) a small band of survivors in Van Nuys struggles to survive and to piece together the answer to the downfall of the world they knew! I haven't seen any video of this series yet--but the guy who produced LOST and HEROES is behind this one (it won't appear on NBC till later in the new season)--and I fell its definitely worth checking out--its the sort of show you won't want to start watching after 3 or 4 episodes have run already!!

6. There is a NEW incarnation of the "STARGATE" line coming on SYFY (formerely Sci-Fi--and NO--I have no idea why they changed it!) called "STARGATE UNIVERSE"--it premieres on OCT. 2nd at 9--8 central! It promises to be VERY interesting--in a nutshell--the Stargate explorers discover an old Spaceship that was built by the Ancients--and it was designed to place the stargates at crucial points in the Galaxy--a small band of experts try to examine the ship and are imprisoned on it with no clue as to their next destination! I recommend this one VERY highly!
That's all I see that really offers any hope of real imagination -- as opposed to old crap dressed up in new clothes with even MORE emotional manipulation--like "Trauma" (NBC)
and Three Rivers (CBS)--for pity's sake--do we NEED any more cop/medic , hospital, or "family drama" shows that bracely go where EVERYBODY has gone before? (BTW--for those who are still in search of "MEDIUM"--it has moved to CBS!)
