I have been disappointed when dozens of my favorite shows went off the air in the past, but I really miss Seinfeld. It was unique and priceless. They'll never be able to duplicate it. And it was the ensemble cast that made it - individually the comedians are funny, but not as funny as when they played off each other.
"Oh, hello Neewmaaan!"
Does anyone have any favorite episodes we could discuss? There are so many!
I guess one I remember best was where Jerry decided to visit a sick fan of his. (Bubble Boy) I think he took Elaine and George but I don't think Kramer came. George got into a hassel with the kid over something stupid.
I also remember Jerry and Elaine trying to sleep together and yet still keep their friendship in tact. I think now-a-days they're referring to that as "Friends with benefits". LOL
Here are two of my favorites: The one with the horse and carriage. I can't remember who was in the carriage. Anyway someone fed canned beans to the horse which gave him gas and of course the expulsion was projected right into the carriage. The other one was where George was at the beach and the water was cold and "there was some shrinkage" and it wasn't his bathing suit. :)
ROFL, I remember both of those. The one with George's shinkage problem started in a shower, didn't it? That coulda been a different one but I think either Elaine or some girl with them, walked in on him and it was t-o-o-o funny. The central park carriage ride was funny too. They couldn't stand staying in the buggy, right?
I thought of another I really liked. It was when he took the idea for the show to NBC, and said it was to be about NOTHING. They really got a lot of laughs from that, I'm sure, since the show really didn't have a stated format.
Oh, my gosh! I've seen that one several times and it's just so funny. When you think about it, their whole converation is about nothing. Whoever thought that one up was a genius! Jerry Seinfeld or David what's-his-name probably.
I haven't looked, but did you check on Netflix to see if it's available to rent?
I've found the only wonderful thing about losing your memory with old age, is being able to re-watch loved old shows, and not remember most of what happened!
If you noticed--one (perhaps) planned evolution of the show was that with each season thewhole group became more self-centered and obnoxious--I remember saying to a friend a month or 2 before the big finale'--"If there was any justice in the world--people that selfish would end up in jail (honest - to goodness!! )
I think I noticed that, too, a bit toward the end. All the celebrity had gone to their heads. Well, you called it, didn't you? They did end up in jail - pretty funny, actually (what you did, not what they did).
